I've got a '65 Biscayne that is having a fuel gauge problem. When it gets to 3/4 of a tank, it drops like a rock to 1/4 of a tank without stopping in between. I'm thinking maybe a float issue in the tank more so than an electrical issue. Any thoughts?

I put a '65 float in my '64 Special. The 64's are 30 ohm and the 65's are 90 ohm. My needle bounces once its off of full, but is still accurate. The 64 and 65 Chevys are completely different body's, but maybe the senders differ accordingly? ws
