I am to the point of doing the wiring for my racecar and need alot of help. I need help figuring out how to do whats necessary to get it running.I will list the things I have to hook up and see if anyone can give me guidance. I have searched all over the net and can't find the answer I am needing. My car has the following:
Dual LS1 electric fans that are wired to relays
Electric Holley Blue pump hooked to relay(mounted by rear bumper)
MSD 6AL(mounted on backside of glovebox door)with 2 step and adj rev switch
    Mallory Comp 9000 distributor
electric trans temp, fuel gauge, volt gauge in interior
The stock wiring harness under dash
    1 wire alternator
all stock wiring for headlights etc

So, my problem is,I have decided to put the battery in the trunk. Now,what I need to know is some simple things so I can complete the electrical system.
I have a cut off switch in the right rear 1/4 extension and will put the wire from the starter to one side of the switch that when its turned to the right,it will have power through it. I think I will need to have another 1-2 ft wire from the 2nd terminal to the + side of the battery. Then a ground wire from the - side battery terminal to the frame. I want to put another ground wire from the front frame to the motor to make sure ground is good up there as well.

Will the wire that goes to the starter(with the std starter wires) be sufficient so I will have normal headlight and interior wiring or will I have to do some type of mods?

Since I am running a set of dual fans,I have 2 relays on the inside of the pass fender. How do I go about wiring to those? I don't want to run 5 wires up front so I have power to all my assys. Can I just run a 8 gauge wire up front to a power strip so I can feed off of it for the above items?

I need to also have power to hook up the MSD and at first thought about running the big red power wire to the starter and hooking it fast there, but I got thinking that the power wont be cut off like I need it to be. Will I be able to hook this to the power strip as well??
And last but not least, If the power strip will indeed work where do I hook it to so it can be switched off with the switch?Directly to the on off switch??

Would a MAD electric remote starter solenoid(Ford style) be a good idea?? How about their trunk mounted battery helper kit with a terminal block? Are they worth it??

I am a total moron about this and don't want to burn my project up ar start a garage fire. Any assistance is extremely appreciated.

eek there is a lot of stuff there.

ok the battery you run to the hot side of the solenoid and is a large post. that hot should be run in a number 2 if not 1 or 0 (welding cable works really well) espically if making the run from the rear. From this hot wire this could operate the rest of your electrical system. however your alternator hot will need to run back to charge the vehicle on the battery side of the man cut off switch. your fuel pumps will need to be powered off of the line running to the starter somewhere, at starter or at rear switch or anywhere between (NOT on the alternator line)

(btw they sell battery relocation kits that include the wiring you'll need for this)

your fans can run off of the large wire running to the starter. (you'll need to run your own wires for all the relay coils however (small gauge to coils)

your MSD will ALWAYS be on if you connect it to the hot side of the solenoid at the starter. if this is going in a 70-72 GS the best hot to use for the MSD is the spot where the resistor wire goes from the original coil. however you will need to remove the resistor wire and replace it with normal wire. another option to try is to use the white wire to the windshield wiper. it is hot when the ignition is on but off when the car is off but test it with a volt meter before wiring. (your wiper switch actually supplies a ground to the wiper.)

you will need to figure out how to get energy from the battery to the rest of the wiring harness usally thru the two fusable links (one headlights) one rest of the car. more than likely at the starter. oh also be sure to put fuses in for each individual circuit you add.

a ford style solenoid is a good idea if you are running headers and heat may cause an issue with the factory solenoid. I'm not familar with the MAD battery kit however.
