    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew how to get the headlight assembly apart from the support piece that runs across the front of the car which holds the headlights in? I saw two pieces that look to slip out through the top for each headlight but, they won't come out and I don't want to spend another $200 for a headlight that I screwed up while trying to take it out. lol. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

OK...this is what I remember from doing a few.

Take out cornering lamp, remove grille. There should be two 10mm bolts behind the cornering lamp and two behind the grille, 4 total that hold the headlamp bracket in. That should be "it" .

Rob, I guess you already have the top plastic panel off the top. The piece that goes from side to side.(99 GT has one-dont know if a standard SE GA would have one) anyway if you are already looking at those 2 hold downs (they are kinda like upside down L's with serrations on tahe long side)-what you do is -with a screwdriver, bend or pull them towards you and then lift up on them. They will come out. Do not pull straight up till you lean them first-they will not budge. After that is done, you can pull the whole assembly out and get to the bulb. Be careful pulley the assembly out because the hdlite adjusters(little pcs of oblong shaped plastic) may be attached to the lense- if they are and they fall out.be sure to put them back in the right way- you will see what I mean if they come out-f not your headlight will be way out of alignment and you will have to take out and do over. Once bulb is in, slide assembly back and while pushing in on the lense, put the 2 L shape hold downs back in. If you dont push in on lense assembly, they wont grab anything or they will be really hard to slide.
My daughter has a 99 and the first time I did this for her, it took me about 1 hr. She then went the "blue style" lights and I changed both out in 20 minutes.
    Hope this helps.

The is a forum called "grandamgt.com" and if you do a search on their site you can find help also. (thats where I got my info a long time ago)
    Hope this helps.
