I have a real nice Quadrajet (I am pretty sure Buick Application) 17058470. I think the 4 indicates Buick? Under that number is a secondary number stamped 3254. I have 2 older Buicks with a Carter and a Rochester 4-jet. I'm pretty sure it is a late 70's or 80's application. Any help with the decode would be appreciated. It is super clean, straight and complete with complete throttle, choke and pull off linkage assembly complete. I can't remember where or when I got it. Found it in a box in my garage. I did have a turbo Regal in the past, not sure if it was for that or what? I don't believe it to be a turbo specific Q-jet.

The carb in the pics from the link looks a suspicious lot like a turbo carb to me.

I am not 100pct certain as I do not recognize the carb number - I will have to do some digging - could be a replacement carb?

but let me point out a key characteristic or three FWIW

In the photo from the link of the bottom of the carb

there are three vacuum nipples pointing forward on the front center of the baseplate. The smallest, centermost, of those three is a turbo carb characteristic. It is the vacuum hookup for the boost reference power enrichment on a turbo carb.

on your standard carbs that nipple does not exist, and the power piston is exposed to manifold vacuum thru a hole in the bottom of the main casting.

On a turbo carb there is a separate PEVR power enrichment valve that has several hookups and determines when and how the power enrichment functions....it hooks to the center port on the baseplate which leads only to the bottom of the power piston.

I suppose I could imagine a setup where manifold vacuum was directed to that port without the PEVR to get the functionality of a non turbo carb. But in any case you would not want to just cap that port or it would be in enriched mode all tha time.

However That carb also looks like a turbo carb via the throttle arm configuration. but the turbo carbs usually had a curved fuel bowl vent on the front. so some contradictory appearances

again I am not certain 100% but I thought I would share what I think I kow about this carb.

    as for the application listed,
Chevy - 1980 was the year the Monte came with a non computer turbo 6
78-80 BOP there was the regal sport coupes and the lesabre turbos
