A friend of mine has a 69 GS 4000lbs, Stage 2 engine making 600 to 650 hp, t400 tranny, 10 bolt with 4.10 gears. It runs 6.90's in the 1/8 mile and he is in need of a new conv. He has used my 4500 TCI but it is a little too much for shifting at 6200 rpm's. Any recommendations as to stall speed, size, brand, etc. He already knows the cost will be about $800. Thanks in advance.
I got mine from www.edgeracingconverters.com. I really was pleased with it. Got a custom 9.5", 3200 stall unit for @$450, delivered. They do have better ones also. They have about 100 different combinations based on your car, engine, chassis setup.
Thanks. We finally decided to go with PTC. $450 for 10" 3200 to 3400 stall. If it is not the right stall they said they would adjust it for free, just have to pay the shipping. Not a bad deal! We looked at ATI, Edge, PTC and Brian Earick. I'll let you know how it works.
Jimmy, You cant beat a Frank Lupo convertor. He was the convertor guy from Dynamic Transmission before they split up. I will only run a Dynamic trans, they are awesome!
