i want to put a rear sway bar in my 71 skylark 4 door and i read that i need boxed lower control arms to use the rear swaybar. Does anyone have a cheap, but good set? will i need uppers to? Used rear swaybar also needed. jonRcolorado@aol.com Jon
Just order some boxing plates and have them welded into your original lower arms they cost about $18.00 and then it would be just like stock I have done this many times Ken
The usual Buick vendors will have these weld-in plates available. Try Year One, Poston, The Parts Place, TA Perf maybe. But if you want, I know I have 1 or 2 boxed lower control arms I would sell. They're used and dirty, but I think the bushings looked decent. I replaced them with repro boxed arms from The Parts Place a year or 2 ago. May only be one that is boxed, now that I think about it. A rear bar can still be had from your local GM dealer. They may have to order it in, but you generally don't have to pay freight.
I have a nice set of factory lower control arms fitted with poly-urethane bushings and are also boxed. Looking to get $100.
