We're dropping a 455 into a '73 Lesabre, which came with a 350. We have motor mounts but need frame pads. I'm looking for factory pads, not TA pads (which have different dimensions apparently). Anyone have some? Or, anyone parting out a big-block car? Thanks, -Bob Cunningham
i have a set from a 69 riviera, they are the weld in type. dont know if thats what you're looking for?? $25 shipped
I'm not looking for the weld-in type - I'm looking for the kind that bolts into the crossmember (like from the factory). AllGS, it sounds like exactly what I'm after- are the brackets already removed from the car? I know they can be a bit of a hassle to remove... Thanks, -Bob C.
The motor is coming out this week and I will get them out for you and get a picture if you like. I might start tommrow on pulling the engine.
I believe that either the '70 or '73 will work fine. However I think they are a pain in the butt to remove (have to reach inside the crossmember which has lousy access), I wouldn't want you to both to have to take them out. On the other hand, I don't know where to buy these any more. So maybe there will be a shortage of frame pads soon. I think Poston sold them, but as far as I know they are gone. And the ones from TA seem to be "universal" but I think the motor will sit lower in the car. AllGS, since you answered first, is that something you could get to? I'd appreciate it. Not a big rush. Thanks! -Bob C.
