Found a used OTC Stinger 2004 hoist and Sunex 8300 stand for a reasonable price and was looking for opinions on the quality of these tools. I am pulling the motor out of my GN and have a 455 that will be put on the stand at some point in the future too.

As always, thanks for your help!

OTC is awesome. I have an OTC engine stand and it would probably support the whole car. No comparison to typical Chinesium crap sold at Harbor freight, etc. I used to work on BBC's in boats, and the OTC stand would hold a fully dressed 502 with marine headers and everything like it was nothing.

I remember pulling a dressed 454 out of a boat with a chain hoist at a friends place, and bringing it down to his brand new shiney cheapy engine stand, bolting it up, and trying to release the slack off the hoist. It ended up bending the stand and going all the way down to the pan. We laughed for quite a while over that.

    No experience with Sunex, sorry.
