I have a 1950 Buick Special with a Straight 8 in it, I have just started the restoration process and the engine has been completly rebuilt, but I cant get her to start my question is when I try to start her everything sounds good except the engine is turning over to slow to start it, does anyone have any ideas on how to get the engine to turn over faster to start or what is causing this?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! thanks

Are you using a 6-volt system & battery?
If so, you can crank it for a minute or two
with a 12-volt batt. & she'll turn a lot faster. You have to be careful & don't overheat the starter.
    Good luck!

Yes its 6 volt I am trying to restore the car completly factory including the 6 volt system, I did try to crank it with a 12 volt battery hooked up through jumper cables it didnt change anything, I am wondering if its a relay switch or something simple. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know i cant wait to do this :3gears: thanks all your help is greatly appreciated
