Help... I have gone through two water pumps in the last 3 weeks on my 1971 Buick GS 250 with AC. First pump went after running it for years, thought it was just age; this thing was completely shredded inside too. When I put the new one back in, I realized it had the wrong pulley on it, that caused a mis-alignment of the belts, so I replaced it with the correct one. I ran it for about 100 miles and then last night - CRUNCH... this one literary exploded too! My thoughts are that my clutch/fan/spacer are out of balance and causing the water pump shaft undue vibration that it cannot handle, and then it explodes. Thoughts? With that said, I need/want the original spacer and fan for this application, do you have one or both? Tom
I had TA performance build me a 350 custom water pump aluminum last year, and the flow of water is greater, pump is stronger, tell them you want the same one they built for chris in mass and that will put you on the road to happyness, spent around 300,:3gears: good luck
