2nd Annual Lone Star Buick brand X bash Ok Guys and Gals it is time to start working on our 2nd Annual Lone Star Buick Brand X Bash. First off I would Like to thank everyone that was able to attend last year. We had close to 30 cars and a few spectators that were unable to bring theirs (you know who you are!) This time arround we are looking to do the event earlier in the March/ April timeframe. This should keep us out of the heat (I hope). If you missed this event last year you missed a great time and I hope to see you again. Also I have asked Jim Wiese (Thanks Jim) for a little space so that we could discuss the X bash. If you would like to attend please chime in here so we can try and get a tenative head count for this event See you there!
Phil Never seen a strip where the trees overhang the lanes. Makes for a nice atmosphere. Almost like a park.
Jim the Track is about 50+ years old It is a very cozy track. Lots of shade for BBq and conversation. The whole facility is surounded by trees.
What is the day and month of the race how far is austin TX from Denver,Colorado. what does it cost to race is it also is there a test and tune the day before.
Larry a date has not been set yet as I am waiting on the track to set there schedule for the coming year. It will be during the month of march or april... The event will be held on a saturday and fridays are always test and tune nights. Larry keep an eye on this forum and we should have some info very soon. From MapQuest: Total Est. Time: 15 hours, 8 minutes Total Est. Distance: 1000.17 miles Thanks.
I know I know! But Im trying!Im the one without a car folks. Just go ahead and point the finger this way Phil. Kinda had one... I had a car, just wasnt mine. Good ole David and his purrty red GS, gesh, maybe I dont want to bring mine..... His is nicer anyways:laugh: You asked the other day Phil what my projected goal date is, and its real near March, but I still wont be done, I have to put the 9" in the rear still which means not only shakin' the money tree, its chopin it down! Then after that its >>>>:3gears: :3gears: :3gears: :3gears: :3gears:
Re: Re: @nd Annual Lone Star Buick brand X bash David and his purty red GS. :blast: Don't let him scare you off. Someone always has to have bigger and better. I think he is too big for his britches anyway. A GN AND a GS. ou: That's gettin' a little greedy. Think he needs to give up one of them! :eek2: Where has David been? On vacation? :moonu: HAPPY NEW YEAR! :beer :TU: :beer
Lonestar Bash Hey Phil,Hopefully I should have my 70gsx clone race car back together(had engine out redoing it with more power),so I can make down there this year. Bryan Fant
Cool bryan I would love to see you there. This year I will be sporting a 72 skylark powered by a 70 gs motor with ported heads. So maybe I can get beaten by dee.
Phil, Bryan does have a sweet 70. You will be impressed:jd: Not sure what it ran before without the upgrade in power, but it was a strong runner. :3gears: Will represent us well there:TU:
Phil, Have you been in contact with David Newton at all? Wondered if hes off into hibernation for the cool season, or if hes gearing up the GN for more performance. o No:
I have not heard from Dave N. I do not know what he has been up too. I sure he will pop up and take a breath soon.
Looking down that track for the first time at night is no sight for the weak at heart. Did you notice the guard rail on the right lane kind of bends around the trees. Take a further look down the track and you will notice the shutdown area makes a left turn. Most of the real fast cars only make 1/8 mile passes. It was fun  Only 1,334 miles from Wintersville, OH.
