i did call them...Hampton is on the table...

BDS lists itn for $1600 for just an intake..still on the table..just looking for something else

    Dyers is the same..

recently a company re popped an exact copy of the Weiand blower intake, they are Imperial Speed....prob is i cant seem to run one down and they made more than a few.. and they are $500...and i can find pics of the stacked a dozen high..and muliple stacks..but i cant get to the company, called Hellsgate Hotrods and a few other names, out of Oregon i believe...and no response from them, they do a lot of vintage 3 and 4 carb adapters etc...

a company named Gear Drive is releasing an intake this fall ...but they are 4-71 only as of right now and are scheduled to be $850..i want a 6-71..but maybe a flange will work on that..dont know..

id like to find a real intake before i resort to a modified junk offenhauser intake that has more probs as it it let alone a conversion..absolutely nothing on Hampton, they are Aces...

but i do appreciate the effort..thanks Bob

Tom, i am not familiar with Mike Lewis..

is he the guy that works the Offy over by cutting them apart and fixing the choke points?

I found on the net where a guy mills the top half off of the offy 2x4 for Q-jets and uses it for a blower intake...is that Mike?

i appreciate your help..i do..just trying to figure this all out..

another guy built a square "cake pan" plenum/box and welded a 1/2 plate that is available as a 4-71 to 6-71 adapter

another guy is using those 3 inch risers that centerville sells and building a box and using a plate flange on top of it too...

both seem like a boost leak prob..

Mark, if you can get pics of the converted Offy, send them to me. I can probably port it to work pretty well. I have been doing a lot of porting on Caddy's and Nailheads lately and getting pretty decent #'s. I like the highrise Offy the best, if you have to start froM scratch. FYI, I would go 8-71 or not at all. IMO, anything else is a restriction if you want to turn it up and make power. That is unless you want just the look. PM me, will be glad to help with the combo. PS, camming it will be critical to making it make power and last, I am doing my own cams, we'll talk.

Dave we will talk..just getting my bearings and a direction..

truth is, i'm making a looker more than a racer..5 to 7 lbs of boost..and i want one of those spacers to get most of it out of the hood..i want a salt flat racer type car..

i want to put a blower in a 53 Studebaker starlight coupe...

Mark, I posted in your other thread about the Falcon with the blown Nailhead built by Chuckles Garage. Maybe they have some suggestions.

10-4, we'll talk. I still like an 8-71, though. It's all the same $$$ in the end.

I don't believe the 8-71 will fit between the valve covers as it's too wide.

6-71/8-71 same width. 8-71 just longer.
