I promised an up-dated on my nailhead powered hot rod build. Thanks to c_ ehubbard, I got a nice valley cover that chromed up well. I started with this ugly duckling: The engine runs good, so I just did the obvious, like a timing chain set up from Carmen Faso, front and rear seals, waterpump etc... I am using an Offenhauser tri-power manifold, but I like the clean look, so I ground off all the logos, and sandblasted it for that cast look. A quick mock up with the shiny stuff is certainly a motivator: It's going in to this frame: 1932 Ford frame with 1931 coupe body. I will post some pix once it's in the frame. Hope you like it, all you nailhead junkies
Oh yeah! the Olds school stuff is the best. I've got a chopped and shortened T sedan that will get done if the Skylark and Olds ever get out of the way.
Oh yeah that rocks!!! I've got a 401 nailhead just waiting for the right rod to come along. P.S. ....why haven't I seen that on the HAMB....or did I miss it?
Yup, you have been missing it, just do a search on my HAMB name/handle "Rolf" and you will find the build up story. Thanks guys for positive feedback, I am very excited to soon be turning the ignition key for the first time ! We are moving, so it is slowing down the progress, but I do a little every evening.
I'd pay you to bring that thing over here to Buffalo and park it alongside all the chebby and furd powered hot rods.....you'd be the only Nailhead powered one I've ever seen around here. BTW, that's one very sweet ride!
Alternator & A/C brackets I see from your pics you have a dual pulley, do you plan for an alternator and A/C? I am looking for a source for brackets for a 322 nailhead in my "original" modified convert. I have an Alternator, plan to use Vintage A/C. Any help? Your combo looks great. We just had the T-bucket nats here a week ago, only one nailhead in over 200 buckets. Here is Mountain Home AR.
