I am putting my Nailhead powered Altered up for sale due to health reasons. It is a drag race only car... not streetable. Engine is a 425 with new rod, main and cam bearings. Also has new Comp cam, lifters and roller timing set. Cylinder heads were hand ported and polished and have new TA valves, valve springs and hardware. Induction is a Hilborn stack injection manifold with a 1958 build date and matching Weiand cast aluminum front cover with pump drive. Ignition is handled by a vintage Vertex magneto which was recently rebuilt by Joe Hunt. Engine has not been fired since being refreshed. So, everything is new and ready to go. Transmission is a Turbo 400 with trans-brake, manual valve-body, custom stall converter, billet drums and input shaft. Chassis is a hand-built tube chassis, was NHRA certified to 7.50. Body is a one-piece fiberglass 23 T "turtledeck". Has brand-new heavy-duty drive shaft, Chrysler 8 3/4" rear with 4.88 gears and spool. Wilwood brakes with two 4 piston calipers per wheel. Vintage 15"X 10" Ansen Sprint aluminum rear wheels with 12" M&H Racemaster drag slicks. Front wheels are spindle mount aluminum spokes. I am asking $9000 for the car as is. It needs just a few things completed to make it race ready. I will sell the engine separately for $5000 and the rolling chassis for $4500.
should have blower on it instead. but it looks to be a nice ride. i like it. interesting, but have an altered project already.
Did that run at 75/80? I remember one called PAC MAN. It had a Chevy motor then later a Stage 2 455. I have the heads on my car now......
No, that was a different car. This one mainly ran Mason Dixon with a big block Mopar wedge back in the 90's to early 2000's. Chassis was originally a funny car built in the early 70's. Converted to an altered sometime in the 80's. Updated to meet NHRA 7.50 rules in the 90's with a new roll cage and a few extra braces.
Very cool, and very reasonably priced.. wish I was in the market for an altered. I am sure it's going to put a smile on someones face.. good luck with the sale JW
