Does anyone know if the original style pilot bushing that came in the '64-'66 nailheads with a manual trans is the same one that fits the small block 300's and also the chevy engines?
The reason I ask is that I remember my original engine has a smaller pilot bushing in it than the one Carmen sent me. I don't want to use the one he sent because it doesn't bottom out in the hole when you put it in and there is no way to square it up in the bore--I want to do it like original where a smaller bushing presses into a larger insert in the crank. I have a lathe and can easily make one, I just want to know if using the standard Chevy/small bock Buick pilot bushing is correct.
