would like to get a bunch of us nailheaders at the dragway together maybe for a test and tune day or a friday street night. just to have fun and maybe try to start a new tradition. any takers...NH or NJ area Paul
I'm right in the middle of both....Love to do it, obviouslty depending on when, where, etc.... ---------- Post added at 05:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:48 PM ---------- I'm right in the middle of both....Love to do it, obviouslty depending on when, where, etc....I'd vote for Lebanon Valley or New England, but lets see where we get the most interest....might be worth crashing a weekday track rental. Generally have one a month at Lebanon for 70-90.00. I got 18 runs in last time I went.
If it is late enough in the summer I'd be in, I'm going to be out of town until early July. Obviously I'd prefer New England Dragway as its so close to home.
NH, yes, I'd be interested. NJ - no. I will never, ever, drive through New York City or it's environs on a non-essential trip again!
Sounds cool! Id be in if it wasnt so far away. If you guys do put it together, hoefully you wont get flooded by a bunch of fiberglass 32 Fords with Nailheads between the rails.
i have never seen more than two nailhead powered cars or trucks at one time.. so if we can get a handful no matter what they are i would be pretty happy.. i wouldnt mind to see some of the big heavy weights put down some whoopings on a fiberglass 32 .. Paul turbo nailhead
I promise not to chase the hot rod crowd away....I'm actually kinda interested to see how some of the "show only" intakes are set up..six 2 bbls? Bring it on! Will it really run? Also interested in seeing some tranny adapter plates in action - running a 3 speed LaSalle? Lemme see! I get the whole disdain for sbc kit car 32's, but anybody who's running a nailhead had to put some though into it. They arent quite a bolt in......
And while we're on hot rods, I'll show you a picture of a car I havent been able to get out of my head - it was a 33 Buick Roadster for sale up in Maine. It had a dual carb straight 8 -52 Maybe? Hooked up to some kinda LaSalle tranny I think. It was up on eBay, but I didnt hit the reserve and it eventually got exported to France, maybe went for 30k or so.... I'm not a pre-war guy, but I probably bring this pic up and look at it once a month....this car just looked right to me. So if anybody want's to show up in something like this, I'll cover their admission!
I would split it with you. I was doing a ford t and my wife Loved it. Wanted one of the chitty chitty cars instead she would say. I say anything flies in my book to show up but would like to get some nailheaders together for fun day.
well,,,,i guess we will just have to meet here in lawrenceburg Tn.......:Brow::Brow: central location,,, nice local state park with covered pavillions... creek, historical intrest,,, (Crocketts old home place)... plenty of cheap , well furnished motels, and a local car club.... just off of I 65.....and I, I, am here....:laugh: And,,,, i will make a big pot of gumbo......:Brow::Brow:
I would definitely make the trip, but i dont think my car will be done in time . But if something happens next year i will definitely go.:TU:
