Hey guys! (And girls) I've been working on a 65 skylark with a 300 for a bit, when I came across a GS with a 401.
I have a 200R4 out of a 1987 Monte SS, that I was going to install behind the 300, but now want it behind the 401.
I know that I have to get an adapter kit, shorter drive shaft etc.
I'm curious if anyone has a 200 behind their 401, and what combination of cam, torque convertor, gears, they're running!
Also would like some suggestions or warnings, on a cam selection! My engine is going into the shop for a rebuild over the winter, and I need to get my ducks in a row.
    What I plan on is:
    1. Fresh engine rebuild (Cam specs????)
    2. Strongly leaning toward a Holley Comander 950 Injection setup.
    3. Mild porting of intake, heads, and exhaust manifolds. (future plan)
    4 2.5" dual exhaust
    5 MSD ingnition system
    6 Running a 200R4 transmission
7 A rear axle with 3.08 (for now) and posibly 3.43-3.55 in future
So if anyone has any comments on any, or all of the above changes I plan to make, I would appreciate any imput greatly, Thanks Chris Habel
Oh yea, I want to use this car mainly as a street car, with a couple of trips to the track a year. I would love to take it on the Hot Rod Power Tour sometime in the next 3 or 4 years!!!! So reliability is a must! :3gears:
