Hello to everyone, I was turned onto this site after calling someone that had an ad for a nailhead motor for sale.
This stuff is addictive, and I just can't seem to get enough of it. My short story is I found a 66 Skylark GS Convertible in a shed that it was stored in for the last 22 years. The car is in remarkably great shape with the exception of the motor. The car had gone through a flood in 80 or 82 and the owner never drained the motor. Needless to say when I removed the motor it was still filled with water, and ruined a couple of the cylinder walls. So basically what I am looking for is a 1966 401/445 Wildcat motor that is either totally rebuilt, one that is in good running condition or one that can be rebuilt. While cruising this site I ran across a thread about nailhead motor mounts and a response from a person named Cheryl that sent someone pictures of a nailhead motor that looked like it might be looking for a home. If you read this Cheryl, please respond, you mentioned that you had alot of spare parts and was interested in knowing what you got. This is my first venture with Buicks and I may have tons of questions about restoring this beauty.

Thanks and hope to hear from someone soon.

If you want one that is done and don't mind going to get it, Bristol,TN I think. Take a look at this beauty. Go to Yahoo Groups, then search for Nailhead Buick site, look at message 685 for the pic attached. Sorry I don't have a clue how to connect a link to it. :Do No: How close to Jersey are you as I also know of a couple around here.

Thanks, I'll try that before I leave work.
I just used the post reply button, I hope this works.
I sent you an e-mail with hopefully a better explanation on it since I wasn't sure how to respond to the thread thing.

I'm about 2.5 hrs from the Delaware Water Gap and about 4.5 hours from Wildwood.

Distance isn't a problem with me.

I got to leave, hopefully I'll talk to you later.

The '63 Nailhead would have the Dynaflow trans bolt pattern.

    66 GS motor

I will probably be parting out a Kansas built, titled 1966 Skylark GS hardtop that is complete, but with a lot of bondo(from dents, not rust). It is complete, with complete drivetrain from intake to pan and radiator to rearend cover with a console automatic pwr steering and power brakes . Interior is complete with power windows, but shot and needs everything recovered. The engine numbers match, but I have not started it since I bought it 7 years ago. I'd be willing to sell it for 1000.00, but figure it can provide the parts I need for my convertible. I don't want to get into shipping parts, and figure I will be taking it apart by spring. It is stored indoors in Oklahoma City. Anyway, if you want a correct coded 1966 GS motor that might run, and don't mind having to come get it, let me know.
