Not so true.... With any power adder you are forcing the motor to make more power. It is harder on everything. With a power adder you don't have to run as much gear so you don't need to rev the motor as high. You don't have to run as big of a camshaft, so it maybe a little easier on the valve train parts, but the motor wants to come out the bottom. Thats why in big hp motors you run aluminum rods to help cushion the blow. As for compression, with Rod's set up going down the track with say 21 lbs. boost the motor is 23.1 compression.... Not so easy on the motor. Rod is splitting blocks, where like Scotty, who made about the same hp, was scattering the bottom end but didn't split a block.

It is easier to make the power, it isn't easier on the motor.

I guess that's true with the style blower you have because of the load on the crank to drive the thing. If it were turbos, it would be easier on the motor, but harder to tune.

A turbo is easier on the motor only in the fact that your not dragging the blower.A turbo motor will make alot more power than a blower look at the ford guys 400cid and 2200+ hp on gas. This is not easy on any thing. When it all comes down to it big hp na or power adders is hard on parts. The two things that kill parts are cylinder pressure and rpm's.Back to the thread power adders are COOL.

Turbos suck! This comming from my personal experience.

As the 'ol saying goes, "when in doubt, gas it!"

I'd rather have a car that's FAST on motor and spray it! (Just make sure it's built for a mega dose of spray)

I love seeing the N/A cars running quick passes.... but nothing beats the whine of a blown engine. I love the hear a blown engine run.. even at idle.
    Very cool.

I am with Gary i was that way for along time and i got tired of getting beat. Here in Denver,CO we are 8 tenths to a second slower here no air. We need something to make power. Power adders work well here. Turbo cars are bad no belt to drive 200MPH passes they dont hit the tires as hard as blower car. Power adder cars are Big Money $1500-$2000 turbos Supercharger $3000-$6500 intercoolers building headers. Standalone fuel systems $2000-3500 I see alot of the fast EFI Turbo and and Supercharged guys that dont do alot of work after passes. Laptop work Ice and Fuel. Nitrous is like these cheaper for kits $800-1200 for Nozzle systems need to fill bottles keeping bottle pressure up to run good. Putting it on Kill running good passes or Burning up Pistons or Vavles. Lot more work on the Gas people that i no have a good handle on Nitrous tuneups and still get bite by the speed bug and jet it up to run the number and get burned. I have saw it many times 300 hp and then stack 400hp on top 1.5 seconds out. If you stay at a hp level and tune you can run good numbers dont over do it thats what happen to racer that want to be number one. Look at the Ford and Chevy guys they do these all the time here. They have to run the numbers or they dont standout thats you i like the BBB. We need that New Block we need to be able to go out there and spin the motor 8000 rpm and make 1000hp on motor with no power adder and with power adder 1100-2200hp. Let them boys no hay these Buicks can run to.

i'm getting in into these big horse centrifical supers myself. easy power adder.the best of both worlds. not much lag, no exhaust/underhood temp issues, not parasitic off just driving around. since bill build that 350 i've had
the urge for a regalw/a 350.just take it say the 5-600 horse level. then daily drive it!
