let the games begin. attached a pic of our ride. we are original family owners (passed down) looking to get started in some small resto work. need to attack some leaks.

one of first questions is about the engines.. i belive I have a V8 300 by the two LL's on the block.

ive been searching for some gasket kits, oil pan, tranny etc. if a vendor species a 350 for example will that be a direct fit for the 300? does this apply to the 400/450 etc?

thanks for the help in advance.

oh and if someone could lead me in the right vendor direction, id be :TU:

    * father in law has a red 64' V6 vert as well.

Might want to give Jim Burek a call at PAE. He was an old nailhead kinda guy. 915-855-6009 is the work number. I would bet he knows where to go for parts.

    Later...............

    Nice car!!!
Yes, the LL code is the 'Wildcat 310' engine.....300 cubic inch, 210 hp, and 310 ft lbs torque....
It differs from the later '68-up 350 in cylinder head design and block width....some parts will interchange. There was also a 340 offered in '66 and '67. Same heads as a 300, but has a wider block to accomodate the longer stroke.
Fel Pro offers gaskets for the 300. I've found some of the best prices at Autozone. For front end parts, Moog are considered to be of very good quality. Get 'em at your local Car Quest, or online at rockauto.com.
    Welcome!! :TU:
