the mydoom-b virus is supposed to strike on feb 1 . its purpose is to slam microsoft's website with "denial of service" & also to slam the anti-virus websites to stop user access to them . is it not about time that microsoft started to pay more attention to plugging the holes in their software instead of pushing their software too quickly to the market just to generate revenue ?
I think so!!!!!!!!!!!! When I bought my new computer I had it a week and got the blaster worm virus and what made me mad was that microsoft new about this problem and did nothing about it until after it hit. I wish there was some other company that could compere with microsoft.
Install Norton 2004..... It is the best antivirus and utilities program I have ever used!!! I've gotten at least 15 viruses emailed to me in the last days...starting to annoy me.
Also, don't download attachments if you don't know who they are from. This will keep viri away, but not worms. I've been online since 1995, never used anti-virus software, and have never had a virus. Its best to just be careful. I did catch a couple worms (Code Red and Nimda). I use Kerio Personal Firewall now.
On our news channel(7), it said it has already hit some computers. Im looking out for it. My new Dell computer has Norton anti virus 2003, and boy is it sweet. It has caught 1 virus, which was called "trojan seeker", and it has been deleted. I have only caught one due for the fact that i dont pay that much attention to email anymore. But i have to admit, Norton is the best antivirus detection services i have ever had.
prolly seen this from me before but... GET A MAC!!!! more expensive but better all around. one of the good things about em are most viruses are pc based. when the lovebug virus was going around, before i new it was a virus, i did eveything i could to open up that stinkin attachment:spank: tried a few different programs and nothing. found out it was a virus and was pretty happy it didnt infect mac. pete
