In SoCal, your winter car can be a convertible though...

Hey you guys, and ?, it really rained here last winter. Got down to maybe ? 55 even. I hated to get the Skylark out in that. What with global warming, who knows what to expect this winter.

IT was -25 the weekend I went away (Valentines day) about an hour and a half north of me. Yeah, the Skylark wouldn't have liked that.

Nice winter "Beater". I'm a giant fan of red accented primer.

Eric--"I'm a giant fan of red accented primer."

I thought it would be painted by now, but it looks like it will be a few months, I spent more than I thought it would take just to get this far. That's different isn't it?

    Winter beaters in California?

Well, that certainly isn't a beater!
    Nice little wagon.

How bad can winter be in Southern California?

Bring that baby over here and we'll test it out. We get an AVERAGE of 250 inches of snow a season. We'll check out your winter driving skills!

Seriously, it's a great car. A freind of mine has a 2-door and it's really fun to drive.

    Dean,

Personally, I'd just put a seal coat over it and leave it flat :TU: Its just a beater, right?

It was close, a guy at work got the motor, trans, everything, out of a 87 GN, 60 k miles. He was going to stick it in a 83 ElCamino and has lost interest. I could still do it but have to do something for my wife first. Don't know what it will be but something real good.

Those 250 I-6 's have some serious torque. I had a '68 Chevy short box with one and it would smoke the tires without even trying. And it was bone stock. I think it had 410 ft/lbs stock or around that.

An LS-1 and 6 speed would go nicely in that engine bay also....

A turbo would look awful nice hanging off the side of that 6.

Louvers look awesome, by the way. Wouldnt be able to get away with that up here - too much rain.
