Ok, so I'm sititng on my little rollabout in the garage beside my just taken apart chassis. She walks in with a coffee, she looks at me, at the frame, at me again and says" Well, at least you can stop taking the car apart now"!!!!:beer I just thought that was funny and would share. later Tim
Tim, Now comes the part that is the most rewarding! When every part you clean and refinish takes on the brandy spankin' new look. And you start to reassemble and get those warm and fuzzy feelings. We don't neeeed no steeenking game plan!! :3gears:
She has no idea.... I had to beat my wife home today yet again to get all the UPS boxes squirreled away in the garage! Taking it apart don't cost nuthin'. Now the money game begins.... Good Luck! :TU:
Actually i'm doing ok because i bought most of my parts up front and the bodywork was done before the body came off the frame, so basically we are on the downward sprint now. Once the frame gets powdercoated, I can reassemble it with all my new stuff, roll it out and set body back down and then test fit and paint and final assembly...thinking another year total due to money and time....lots fo details to take care of (tires, weatherstripping, etc). later Tim
Sprint? Did you mean "spiral"? just kidding, lol. It sounds like you've got some momentum there! Keep it going! And honestly, my wife is cool with what I'm doing. I was just joking. Good luck, keep the pics coming! :TU:
You think you have secrets??? While you are in the garage she is sneaking in her new purse and shoes!!! Yeah, those have been in the closet for a while...right... Sarah (Steve's wife)
i had my girlfriend going for more then a week that i didnt actually buy the skylark out front, but that the real owner just let me test drive it to see if i wanted it... pete
Amateurs. Just ship the parts to your office, stow them in the trunk, and then while she's doing something in the house that evening sneak them in! Even remove some parts from the boxes at work so you just have to carry in parts. Honestly. What am I going to do with you???
I just ship stuff to my Parents house - they're retired and home to take delivery..... .....only problem was at first my Mom used to call and leave messages like "You have a HUGE box that UPS just delivered...." uzzled: Of course my Wife's first response was "What did you buy Me ???" I threatened to never clean their grage again.....that cured the tip-off calls
48 hour rule Remember that if your wife does not find the part within 48 hours she cannot complain about it.:beer
Tim, don't worry about it, that's a good bit of progress from the last pics! :TU: Hey, you're further along than my perpetually stalled 67 project... ou:
Actually, she's usually pretty cool about it, but checking tracking numbers it just so happened that a bunch of stuff I ordered from different places was arriving all on the same day! Lots of boxes! :eek2: And yes, I have used the ship to work method. :TU: I could always hide parts in my Dad's garage, no one would find them there! (including me) ou:
