hey guys new hear and this is the first car i have built and i had alot of suspention questions because of what happened 1 year ago at the track. i have an 83 lesabe with a 384 sbc, TH-400 with a 4000 stall, 8.5in 10-bolt with 4.88 gear and spool. the first time at the track it had a 3.73 posi and stock 1800 stall(trans is from 74 leguna) the car did fine on street tiers it ran a 12.8 at 110mph, was a dog out of the hole. So i got the 4000 stall and redid the hole rearend and that gear has woken my motor up. last time at the track with the same 10 year old micky tompson L60 indy profiels i got off a guy for free it spun the **** out of them and then in second it spun some more then wheel hoped realy violantly so i got out of it and back in and it hooked up and i ran a 13.2 at 105mph. the frount suspention is all stock except a 90/10 copetition engenering drag shock. the rear suspention at the time was stock springs and shocks and these coustion control arms i made, uppers are 2in by 3in steel tube and ajustable, the lowers are no ajustable 2in by 3in steel tube and the busshings are stanless steel no rubber.

since then i have removed the body from the frame and boxed in all the c channel, put a tortion bar in and put 12 way ajustable QA1 shoks on it, still stock springs and i now have prostars with 28 by 10 MT slicks. i am taking the car to the track on saturday if the weather holds up, any tips on pinion angle? and do you think this is going to work? thanks

it ran a 12.1 at 109mph with a 1.6 60 foot with the slicks at 19psi with a 3000rpm launch, it worked great. couldent be more happy, guess i got it right. i tried launching at 3700 but it spun a littel but i bet that is because i did a crapy burnout and the slick were at 19psi. but i put the car away for the season so the next step is bigger intake, bigger carb, trans break, two step box and 16psi in the slicks. i never thought it would go faster than 12.4. but i guess i got more power than i thought. o yeah and i weighed the car at the track and it came to 3700 with me(115lbs) in it that suprized me too. i thought it would be closer to 3900.
