Goofin' off tonight with my friend Bill and his newly acquired 74 Vette. Nice car...has the L-82 250 horse 350 auto with a Cam, Headers, and 3.08 posi. Runs well. So I'm back to street tires instead of the street slicks (don't wanna leave it sit on the slicks all winter). Anyway, We leave Jerrys Curb Service and hit the highway. First we go from a roll. Probably 5 mph. By the time I run out third, he's back about a car and a half. Sweet! Now we catch the light. Long light....lotsa time for junk talking! Classic!!!! Light turns green and my missing street slicks show. I'm burnin' em off while he starts to pull. I nail second hard and break loose again. gettin a little sideways here. The car straightens and I keep in it bigtime. I start to creep up on him now. My fender is at his quarter. Bang third and I overcome the Vette. I musta run second out more than normal cause my second to third spread usually kills me. Race over. Another win, but a better win! My car is 100% unrefined and driving it is a throwback to the day I'm sure. I wrestled the car that time. A few high-speed drivebys on the newly paved highway home, and It's back in the garage for now. Good night for sure!!! :3gears:

Well, thats unlikely to happen anytime soon. All I got laying around is a 430 that probably needs rebuilt. The 350 I put in the Regal is a 69 4V motor with 10-to-1s. Plus it only had like 40K miles on it. In other words, its the best motor I got, and I can't afford another! This winter is gonna be headwork and new rear gears! Besides, Its fun having close races with your pals!
Yeah I know what you mean on both accounts. Me and my high school chum used to race, his Caprice Classic vs my Apollo. I just about always took him but he always edged up like he was gonna take me. Too bad he bough a little S-10 that doesn't have squat for acceleration. Good times, good times :TU:. Patrick
