I am new to the buick world i have more experience with the sbc .... although and engine is an engine, buick is still the best ... or so i read here ......lol Heres my plan 4300 lbs 67-72 Chevy Truck Buick 455 w/ 400 Turbo break into 11's in the quarter I started buying some thigns for it today but it will be a while before it is ready to go .... I am hoping this will get me to the ~600hp/tq - 455 + 30 over - Stage 2 TE heads - forged pistons / rods - Roller rockers - TA 608b camshaft - TA oiling system and timing cover - Race Demon 975 maybe the 1050cfm - Postons 4000/1800 switch pitch converter - All other goodies that go with it ..... ie grooved bearings, halo girdle , and everything else it will take was going to run tci trans pack and pro street shift kit trying to keep the gears lower then 3.73 my 4.10's i used to have were a pain but i also had 26in diameter tires any other suggestions please post them ..... or how much horepower to get that ~4500 lb truck into the 11's let me know . anyoen with a 4000lb car in the 11's? thanks Brandon jeeves
Squeaked mine into the 11's with 3.73 rearend and th400 tranny. I'm at 4250 lbs. with me and 1/2 tank of gas. Looks like your combo should do it.
