One kill I had was with a V-6, but still kinda funny.... In High School a friend of mine always wanted to race me.. well I made him eat those words.... Me.... 1967 Jeep CJ-5, 225 cid Buick V-6, 4.88 gears, 2500 lbs with me in it... Him... 70 1/2 Camaro, 250, built fairly stout... 4bbl, mild lope... Race... Across a 4 lane road with full turn lanes.... Outcome... Dropped the little CJ into low range, into second gear (read as having 6:1 gears)... When the light turned green I simply dropped the clutch and mashed the gas, no rev beforehand. Tires barked a little. Hit third gear halfway across the intersection, tires didnt even complain, and was completely out of speed when I hit the straight on the other side... but.... the Camaro was still burning rubber and hadn't completely moved over the starting line.... gotta love Buick torque and traction.... Another Chubbie bites the dust. Amazing how 165 HP beat 300+ HP huh???? Only kill in the Wildcat was a 68 Fury III 383 4bbl.....actually belonged to my brother... I had just rebuilt the 383 with a decent cam, and the 401 in my 'cat was just breaking the 100k mark.... my bro wasnt too happy....
