This is the correct wheel for 66 and 67 full size Buicks without disc brakes. The webs are painted charcoal on these. Black on wheels for 67's with disc brakes (like mine on the previous picture) and newer models.

This is the 71 and later style wheel (and center cap). It is also mounted on a 67 Riv. Unlike the 65-70 wheels, these do not have a centering ring at their back.

    67 riv wheel info

Thanks for the information. Attached is a picture of the rims I bought on ebay. I'm told they are rare 15x7 Buick rims. The guy said they would fit a 67 riv, but he did tell me they were from early to mid 70's. As you can see i need center caps and or cones. Thanks Dennis

I searched for 15X7 rims for my 70's Buicks but I haven't found any in local junkyards. These rims were found on 80's Buicks but are quite rare. Try them on your Riv to see if they fit (if the car has drum brakes). Then, you could either install the later type center caps or you could grind 1/16" all around the hole (unil it's diameter is 2 1/8" so it will accept the cone caps.

    67 Mag Rims

    Phil,
Great Idea. I Will Try This Next Week. You Mention Drum Brakes. Do You Know If I Will Have A Problem If I Have Front Disc's? Or If I Want To Convert To 4 Wheel Disc's?
    Thanks Dennis

If you use the factory set up (for the front wheels) the wheels won't fit as the 4 piston calipers are very large.

I guess there should be no problem with aftermarket kits but I don't know if aftermarket kits exist for the rear wheels and those for the front wheels are not cheap!

What's the color of your Riv, is it the original color? If you don't know it, look at the paint code on the body plate.

    Center Ring

Is the center ring necessary to fit the newer style rim to a '65 ?

No, centering rings aren't necessary but as I said on the earlier post, the 1971 and newer wheels have more backspacing which could cause tires to rub on some cars. This will also make each wheel move inboard 1/2".

At least, the 65 center caps will fit on these wheels!
