Hi all! I've been checking out the posts for technical info for a couple weeks, and today decided to take the plunge and join your world.
Hello, Jason and welcome to the party!:beer My dad used to have a '72 Estate Wagon. (similar to a Centurion) I wish I could go back in time to the day we junked it........had 12 bolt posi, am/fm stereo, and the 455 still ran good.....the tranny was shot.....3rd tranny and dad said "forget it". I think all I saved was the radio, the overflow tank and a few light bulbs. I still have the tank, though. :ball:
my brother and i- i guess you would say share- a 1965 electra 225 with a 401 nailhead in it. the avatar is a picture of it. that is a picture of me racing it up at the track for the TCR (teen championship racing) program for 13,14, and 15 year olds. the car has a cool story behind it too. when we got it it looked pretty bad, mostly because of all of the dust and dirt on it, but we fixed it up nice and then the guy we bought it from told us this story about it. In 1965 these people bought the car new and then took it to the 65' worlds fair in new york. the people had only, i think, 400 miles on it, and then during the night, robbers busted in through the trunk and then through the back seat and started it up with a knife. then these robbers took it and robbed a bank with it and then the cops ended up finding the car sitting alone somewhere and the robbers werent caught. so then the cops rubbed finger print power all over it and then they tried to figure out who it was but i don't think they did. so then the buy we bought it from worked for penn national insurance company and then he got his hands on it and drove it forever and then in the 80s he parked it and then let it sit until my brother bought it in 03' for 400 bucks, advertised in the paper for 1000. so it is a pretty interesting car and i like it a lot!!!!!!! nice and powerful!!!
