It's good to hear that the original paint still has some life. Personally, I think that car is outstanding just the way it is, especially since it has such a good complement of optional equipment. The uprated engine and factory air in a Special wagon seem pretty "special" (and easier to live with as a modern daily driver), those cars were usually pretty basic. I'd spend the first bucks changing out the single master cylinder for a dual, maybe add a power brake booster at the same time; did the former to my red '65 Sportwagon, really made me feel safer driving it around.
The one car I wish I could have darn I almost want to sell my Riv for one of these but a good one like that I would have to have perfect timing! LOVE WAGONS always wanted a 66 Chevelle wagon (Thats untill I bought a Buick) But the Buick wagons have now got my eyes. Chevelles are just to big of a name now 4 years ago you could buy a 66 Chevelle wagon for 5000 in really good shape now forget it they are all customized and cost anywhere from 13,000 for a nice unmolested one to 35,000 for a custom or compleatly restored one. Unless a nice wagon comes up Ill just keep the riv plus its value is about 2000 more (NOT LIKE VALUE MATTERS TO ME I DRIVE A BUICK NOT A CHEVELLE) Welcome to the site and YEAH YOU HAVE A JEWEL
Nice Wagon. I got one too but i have not had a chance to do anything to it (Work, family, life etc...) But will make time next year. Welcome!
I didn't see this when it was first posted. Welcome to the board. What a bunch of nice wagons!! Got to get me one of those! Like Doc said, 65 is the best year. I would be happy with one up to 67 though!
Nice looking wagon ... you'll love it more and more. I grew up in the back of a '69 Sporty so its in my blood. Wagons' Rock !!
