I put in some cavalier bucket seats on Friday, I need to take the headrests off and get them covered in black leather. They should look pretty cool when done. Whatcha think?
Not usually a fan of modern OEM (dont mind aftermarket) seats in an older car but that doesn't look half bad. Good idea and nice execution :TU:
First I am thinking 66', right ? Second I am thinking, I really like the shaved handle look on it(always wondered), Third I am thinking, the seats look like a great fit in there. How do they "sit" ? Meaning headroom, legroom, etc. Looks like a good, do-able, swap for a street car. Are they powered up or any of that ? Lumbar maybe ? Looks good, I'll remember this swap...........
67', I used a 50lb autoloc 7 channel kit for the doors. I could still do power trunk, but I'll leave it for now. They sit quite nice, I'm 6'2" and it feels perfect. The seats have alot of forward/backward travel, and recline forward to let the passengers in, and lay all the way back against the rear seat for a snooze haha. Mine arent powered or anything, but with all of the sunfires/cavaliers made, they are one of the cheapest seats you can buy. The headrests will be torn off and seats wrapped with black vinyl/leather for a somewhat vintage look.
Looks nice! Did you need to make custom brackets or did they bolt in easily? Do you have any pics of how/where they bolted in? I sold my bench seat from my 66 and need to put in some buckets, just trying to get some ideas of how easy it will be. Thanks!!! :TU:
I'm either going to get rid of the seat belt hoops, or the headrests alltogether. They would look something like this (quick edit out with microsoft paint):
