Hi Everyone, To those of you that have been following my story of the purchase of the car from ChinaMike in December to my tales of woe about various car carriers I finally to matters into my own hands. I rented a trailer, borrowed a truck and spent 9 hours on the road to pick up the car myself from the Seattle area. The car is finally home where it belongs! It is everything that Mike said it was. It's really great to be able to put one's faith and trust in an individual based on the caliber of people on this site. When Mike said he wanted to sell his car I believed and trusted him comletely that he was being honest. I have come to realize and believe fully that most everyone on this site are of the same high standards. I have NEVER spent more than $20.00 on anything without seeing it. However, in this case because of this site and Mikes reputation I never doubted or had second thoughts about the deal. My initial thoughts were realized today when I picked the car up. Mike, I would like to publicly thank you for being such an upfront and honest guy. I hope that one day we will get to meet in person. (Maybe a fishing trip on the reservoir!) I am a very happy new GS owner. Here's one pic to prove it finally made it home! I'm off skiing for a few days tomorrow. I will post more pics next week.
HI DAN! Great to hear from you. :beer Yeah, just like Christmas when I was 10 years old! That's number 2 Buick in the garage, now....yes I think I already know what #3 will be. :Brow: Take care Harvey
Harvey's Baby Harvey We're glad it made it to you without any damage . Christmas smiles every mile ..... Enjoy !!  :TU: :TU:
And so ends another episode of "As The Buick Turns" Harvey, we had our fingers crossed the whole time for you . May it bring you years of joy. Cheers :beer B&D` PS. dont forget the sunblock
Much nicer Much nicer than my neighbor's copy. Harvey, you made the right choice. Good Luck with your new car!
Harvey, what's #3? Let me know which one you want. LOL But seriously, glad it finally worked out. You'll have a long list of stuff you want to do to it before springtime, and not much time to do it. Now that I've sold it I'm more convinced (because I sold it) that it's one of the original Stage1 converts. Roger the former owner said he believed it is, and gave me the story about the 455 to 350/350 engine/tranny swap during the gas crisis, original St1 engine in a hot rod in Colorado, blah blah blah. Flint plant, St1 badges, disc brakes, posi all had me wondering. Although maybe they got the disc brakes and posi because it had the factory trailer hitch. Now, for the trivia buffs how many N25 had the trailer hitch? Let me know what you find out.
Looks to me like he spent a couple hours washing it after the nine hour drive, and only could take one pic before falling asleep. It wasn't that clean the last time I saw it, that's for sure. Looks like it's in "drying out" mode. Convertible guys know what that means.
Exactly right! The car didn't even make it home before it was washed. I stopped at the local car wash as washed it on the trailer. (Anal or what?) :boring: Yes, it is now in "drying mode". I'm off skiing for a couple of days today. The weather is supposed to be nice Sunday so I'll get more pics and post them Sunday and maybe even a little... :3gears: Thanks to everyone for your congratulations. Talk to you Sunday. :beer Harvey
That's a very nice convertible you got there harvey!:3gears: I love the paint. What color is it?o No: lookin good:bglasses: -Cody
I'm going to Vietnam Monday, then straight to Singapore on Sunday through Thursday. Will catch up on this when I get back to China. From my perspective, that's safer than skiing in Canada. But then again I'm not a skier.
Harvey; Great news! The car looks fantastic! You are going to really appreciate that white interior after the sun's been beating down on it for awhile! Now only if it would stop raining around here!! If you want some company, give me a call at 604.551.5841, I've been looking for a good excuse to get my beast out of the garage!
Great news Harvey. Looks very fine. Have a good and safe time skiing. When you get back you can shoot some more pics and fill us in on the evil transport companies.:Brow:
Holy crap, Another car that has my color. I love it myself. Nice car, definatly looks good. I need to see some more pictures. I have paint in my near future and I was going to go a slightly brighter orange, but maybe not anymore. Beautiful GS !!!!:beer :beer
