I've been on a road trip since last Wednesday, and I came back tonight to have my neighbors inform me that my Centurion is no more. Someone had left a mattress next to it on the sidewalk and then someone had lit the mattress which also torched the car, which burned for half an hour. I'll be able to see it tomorrow, but they say it's completely toast.
WHAT?...............man you gotta move to the mid-west.....people don't do that s**t to your car while you are on a roadtrip......YET! Peace WildBill p.s.......are there pictures ? :blast:
Very sorry to hear that shite ! People are f$^&$% up it's unbelieveableuzzled:Any clues ? Area punks perhaps ? I'd be REAL inclined to sit out at night and just see who comes around . Steve
OH MY GAAAAD!!! Dude, I can't believe what I just read. What the frick? I am so sorry, that thing was awesome looking.
The neighbors said the fire dept was trying to pry open the hood, but it was just gone. I spoke to some other neighbors and it wasn't a mattress, it was a bunch of trash cans and some trash bags next to them. I remember seeing the stuff there when I left on the road trip. There had been something like 75 people around to watch the show. The car is now sitting at the impound, I'm going down there tomorrow to take a look, I'll have some pics for you. The plan as it now is to have it towed to a place in Long beach where I have a contact through a friend where I can probably store it for a day. I'll take what ever I think is worth something, like the 3.42 posi axle, the 15x7 rallyes, maybe something more. Then I'll have a junk yard tow it to their yard in Long beach and that will be it. I only had collision insurance so it's gone, and there is no money around to replace it at this time. I'll probably unload the stuff I had in pipe line to fix the car, and then give the classic car hobby a rest for a while. I'll also put up some notes around the block to see if someone saw who lit it, if I would find out who, the cops would probably have to come and get me after I'm done with the person. I don't think it's quite sunk in yet, there has been very little emotions about this so far, I think it will be worse when I actually see it tomorrow. This is what it looked like before it went down, I'll get an "after" picture tomorrow. Here's a link to a project thread about it: http://www.buickcenturion.com/forums/showthread.php?t=214

Kimson I was truly sorry when I read about this, especially when I realized that your insurance doesnt cover it. We all know how much sweat and money you had put in that car. Such damn idiots...:af: :blast:
Unbelievable. I can't even imagine what I would do if someone did this to my car. What idiots. Dan:ball:
Kimson, I'm so sorry to hear your sweet ride is gone. Man, that totally blows! What kind of lowlife would do that? Probably some punks with nothing better to do. But, what comes around goes around. They'll get theirs! Hang in there, man.
