ok i bought my car a few years ago with some major issues but here is the question it's and 86 that i know for sure but my question is was there any t-types made with the 307 v8 cause my car has all the emblems for the t-type (besides the hood scoop ones cause it dont have the scoop) it does have the BN body style but the shifter is on the colum the speedometer is still the old 85mph one and it has the split bench instead of the buckets.. but i am curious if it is actually a t-type or just a lame knock off here are some pictures http://www.oshit.org/mycar/ (the t-type emblems that was on the tail lights fell off along with the ones on the vynal top) not sure if this is in the rght forum but i didnt see one for questions so if it is wrong a mod can move it
Carney, I believe your car was "badge engineered", in other words, it is a Regal that someone has placed T-Type emblems on. The emblem on the dash is incorrect in both type and placement if the car was a T-Type. It looks like it was maybe a Regal Limited (judging by the color of the dash trim; ie: the plastic wood and inserts). T-Types were available in 1986 with non-turbo motors including the 307 V8. Other Regals were available with non-turbo V6's as well as 307 V8's, too. HTH
hmm thanlks is there any way i can find out for sure? like if i was to email buick with the VIN? or am i SOL?
Sorry, badge engineered plain-jane Regal. 1=Country of manufacture (USA) G=Manufacturer (G=General Motors) 4=Division (4=Buick) GJ=Carline/series GJ=Regal (GK would be a T-Type, GM Regal Ltd) 47=Body type (47=coupe) Y=engine (Y=307 V8) X=Check digit G=model year (1986) P=Final Assm plant (Pontiac MI) ******=basic number in sequence
damn now i must go on a mission and find a real one o well i didnt pay that much for it and i have had it for 3 years
