EEE convinced me to post here :)

My friend took these video's of me running my '72 Centurion around a Good Guys Show autocross track. Complete with worn out shocks and springs =D I had a blast, I was the biggest car running and by far the most worn out suspension for massive banking and crowd pleasing =D

    The first run.

The Second Run, watch at 35 seconds you can see the puff of tire smoke come off the right front while turning, haha.

Then a run from the inside.

    Enjoy!

I bought the car in San Diego in 2002. It had a chewed up crank and a few con rods, but fortunately I already had a 455 at a machine shop. So I towed it home, and a week later I had it running. And a month later I drove it to Myrtle Beach, SC and back. Then I took it to the California Speedway for a best 15.58 seconds in the high 80'smph. Took it to the scales right after the track and with the gas gauge pegged on E and me out of the car it weighed in at 5012lbs! :eek2:

It was my daily driver through college and a good chunk of when I moved to Ely. The engine is a standard '72 block, heads, intake, exhaust manifolds, points, Q-jet with the Isky .454 lift cam. It's got the TH400 (of course) and 2.93 open gears out back.

It's due for paint. The previous owner put a $300 MAACO paint job on it, and it looked good for five or so years, but in the last two has really been deteriorating. So I'm bidding my time planning on building a shop this summer in my backyard and try my hand at paint and body work.

How nice to see you over here too TSB! Think we can drag BuickGuy over here too or is he hanging around where I don't see him since he's got one of those small cars?

Hey, good to see you made it in here... I guess you made it back up north too, how much oil did it drink?

It drank about 6 quarts from Phoenix to just past Las Vegas. My alternator went out just past Vegas, so I had a friend come grab me and the car for the last leg of the trip. I put a new alternator on it but it won't start... Now it's buried in snow so it may be a while before I get to troubleshooting it. I had a great time though!
