like boattail pics ? a complete update is planed on this site and this is your last chance to see the original pictures because i want to use newer pics . the pictures on the website are made the day i boucht the car.

finaly after owning the car for 6 months i can finaly drive it. :bglasses: paperworks are slow in belgium. i even had to write 2 times to general motors for numbers about the maximuum tolerated mass. they(GM) had to even sign me some papers too before the numbers where accepted and could finaly drive my (in perfect condition) car. not to mention the amount of money it had to cost for getting the papers ok...
but it was all worth waiting. the car runs like a train and glide like a boat.
on the first day i was driving with the plates from an other car(testing the car) the cops let me pull over. they just want to see my car.they askt about the engine, the airco etc, they where facinated about the car. they even forget to ask about my papers  . they had never seen a car like that.(i had no insurance and thought i was gone be in big trouble. but no, the stopt the upcomming traffic to safely let me back on the street .

so this first drive was really an adventure, and many will come , i hope good one's.

    Welcome to V8buick! :beer

And by the looks of it your boattail is perfect! Very nice.:TU:
The paint is sooo shiny it looks like chrome on the bottom of the rear quarter panel  I hope you have a radio, just not installed yet?

    yes, the radio works.
i had to repair it. just the safty resistors where melted down. but i had to use (eight !) 4 ohm speakers in line to become 8 to 10ohm/canal . the sound is good but i (and even my girl)always like the soud of the engine so much more that i turn off the radio. soon i wil have a mp3 player hidden in the dash. then the original radio wil be there only for the look. by the way, these old radio's become quite hot and i would not loose my boattail on a fire from a bad connection or worn isolation. just not worth it. and radio is radio, i would like to hear my own music.

    Bart,
    Welcome to V8Buick !

Please put your first name in your signature, we're all on a friendly first name base here :TU:

If you want an original 1971 bumper for that Riv: I have one laying around, just let me know. Now your car has a 1972 rear bumper.

Board member 75Riv is the person who's name you see in the last seconds of that 1973 Riviera video.

The Dutch owner of your car was a man named Carlo, living somewhere in the province of Utrecht. I have photos of that car when it first arrived here in the Netherlands.

yes, its a 72 bumper. i might put a 71 bumper on it depending on what this mod will cost. and it will not be for this month or even the next.
please send me more info about the car if you can. i do not understand why this car was for sale. carlo must spend an enormous amount of money on this car to get it in this shape.

    Bart,

I was also looking for that little piece of trim, but for the passenger side on a '73.
Got one for free from board member 75Riv (He also signed your guestbook, so maybe you want to contact him)

Here's also a good source for Boattail parts, just over the Belgian border:
