Hi Everyone, I introduced myself in the regular place, but I thought that I would also say hi to all the full-size owners down here. I have a 70 Cat that I got about 20 yrs ago. I drove it regularly for about 10 yrs. then a combination of mechanical problems and financial changes put her on the sidelines. Now, I am working on getting the GatoGo cat back on the street. The car is a numbers matching, POP, 2 door hardtop. Red with a white vinyl top, and a white interior. It wasn't fitted with very many options - just a/c, tilt, soft ray, power steering, power brakes, and remote driver's mirror (if I recall correctly). Here is the car, fresh from 10 yrs of storage... Right now, I am pulling the original engine and replacing it with a '73 455 rebuilt short-block (to protect the numbers motor from my heavy foot). The '70 heads and intake are going onto the new motor. The goal is a basically stock appearing mildly hot engine. The seats are not in good shape - so I am looking for a company that does a seat kit for this car. Does anyone know if something like this is available? Anyway - I will keep you all posted as things progress and will probably be asking a few questions. Thanks for taking the time to check out my little project.
Good one! LOL I still can't believe the pics of the damage on your Rivvy (not to change the tone of the thread). I don't know what would be harder to find. Parts for your Rivvy or for a 70 Wildcat. Keep your eyes on the road boys! :Smarty:p
+1...I hated to see the damage to Briz's Riv - what a beautiful color. Great color. You aren't kidding about parts. I was T-boned in mine - years ago now. A guy ran a red light in a late model Camaro and totaled it against the Wildcat. Spun us total around and into a guard rail. Finding the parts and settling with his insurance company was a nightmare and I don't think it has probably gotten any easier. Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I'll post some more pictures soon - working at the shop today and the old engine is ready to come out. Boxes coming everyday - it looks and feels like Christmas around here.
