lol, I keep going back to check it out as well. Any rust? Looks like maybe some on drivers quarter behind the rear tire? Driver's door a slightly different color? Or is it just the pictures?
Crazy. Sounds like he didn't check with wifey and was just blowing smoke. 66 and 67 Riv's are so sexy and desirable. Hopefully it finds the right home. 2020 is just a crazy year all around.
Yes a couple rust bubbles at bottom behind rear tires. I think trunk seal needs replacement so when I washed some water got down there and I forget to dry it. I prefer dry washing if car isn't too dirty with these old cars. Try to keep em dry. Water likes to sit in odd places behind trim etc. At least no vinyl top on this one. No....door paint same....must be picture.... Car is very nice but obviously not perfect as most 50+ yr old mostly original cars are. I'm starting to think I'll just make it into a GS using my GS I have had since 1976. Transfer the 3.42 posi, air cleaner and quick steering. Already have nos GS emblems. But....have so many memories with the rough one.... I'd like to fix it up. Rather than create a fake.......
So tired of the nit pickers.....oh yes the body mount rubber is not perfect....yes a little dry rot in the rubber. 53 yrs old dude!!!
Oh yeah, the "thrill of the hunt", and the ability to appear as a connoisseur who actually knows something. Trolling is a good way of looking at it. My recent online experience trying to sell the car confirms all of the above, there are a lot more phishers, scammers, liars, rogues and idiots out there than there are people who are seriously looking for a nice old car. The lead that sold my car came from this site, proof that the Buick community is alive and well, but also very small in number. And it's tough to sell a car where the people who've always wanted one already have one and don't need what you're offering. Been there, done that. Selling an old car is a time consuming and slow process because you have to find the one guy who's wanted one and is willing to pay for it. That's needle in the haystack territory, particularly when the economy's gone south and there's a pandemic on.
When I bought my Riv I bought it pretty much sight unseen. The guy sent me any pic or video of anything I wanted, verified any paper work he had on the car by pics also. I told him if everything is as he says it is we have a deal and I'll pay him his asking price plus the $300 delivery as he offered to bring it to me. He was 5hrs away from me and (it was going to cost me the $300 in fuel and to rent a car trailer) he wanted to go look at a Harley bagger another 3 hrs passed me. That weekend he showed up with the car, I looked it over and test drove it. Mostly everything was as he said other than some minor stuff so I paid the man in full and he was on his way. The next morning I got pics of the bagger in the back of his truck, win win for both of us. I try my hardest not to waste people's time by tire kicking cause I hate it being done to me.
Yeah I'm done...I think I say too much and then people think well....what is he hiding?...nothing! I think next time I will ask MORE and take offers. If you ask LESS they think there must be issues....Also, I've wasted a few weekends waiting for people to call after they said they were going to come out....not that there is a whole lot to do in a pandemic...but still...don't waste my time.....
Maybe just tuck her away for the winter and try again in spring? I think you've got a beautiful car with a more than fair price just need to find some one worthy enough to be it's new caretaker .
I'm getting tired of selling old stuff....just sold a beautiful Kenwood amplifier KA-701 to a guy for cheap and then he says one of the inputs doesn't work (tape 1). so he wants his money back ...acting like I ripped him off. 40 yr old amp....I said no problem bring it back.......but wants gas money......I give up.... I said AS IS......
He drove 1.5 hrs each way....apparently that's my fault. Says could leave neg feedback on FB marketplace.
You can't please everyone. Either let him bring it back at his own expense and refund him only after testing it that it still works besides tape 1 input OR tell him to keep it and go ahead and leave a negative review on Crackbook marketplace. You could then write response to his review explaining your side of the situation. Like I said you can't please everyone so know matter what you do in this situation he will not be happy.
I just sold some coins on eBay.....I ALMOST put the wrong coins in the envelope I could see offering that in a case like that. But buyers remorse???
