i have a 1970 gs 455 and the motor seems to be stock but does have a slight hit like maybe it has a little hotter cam i also switched it over to hei ignition the problem is at 4800 rpm she starts jerking i was wondering what rpm was red line for this motor and my timing is set at 10 degrees btdc since i changed over to hei should i change the timing to help performance these questions are probably ignorant but im not a mechanic just average guy trying to save a few bucks thanks

does it have a stock coil and module? switching to better aftermarket ones will help the motor rev a little better.

Hey dont worry there are no ignorant questions here unless its the ones you wanted to ask and did not.We are all here to help each other will this great hobby.Since not knowing alot about your combo like engine age, mileage what kind of conv stall etc,I would start with the basics.Check your harmonic balancer and make sure the timing mark has not slipped, check your advance
weight and see when your full timing is coming in,maybe run a cranking compression test(this will help tell you some about the comp and cam )check your fuel pressure, fuel filter and carb float level and also check your plugs for fuel ,oil fouling gap and ing crossfire.Hope this helps some
