I just recently finished installing a Buick 350 in my '87 Regal. It's a '72 350 with a T/A intake with a Holley 600, I know the carb is too small but it's what I had for now, HEI, and a TH350. I used a Hooker 2-1/2" exhaust for a Grand National hooked up to the stock Y-pipe. I also added a 3.08 posi rear. It's a daily driver so I left everything mostly stock. Should get decent mileage and be fun to drive. Now it's time to start putting the 455 in my '72 Skylark before it gets too cold out.

Looks good man! Does your alternator rub the hood at all? Mine did.

Thanks for the comments. No, the alternator does not rub the hood. It did just rub the underhood insulation so I just trimmed that section out. I will be changing the alternator bracket at some point to the early non ac part. I need to make a spacer so the belts line up and mill a notch into it so the larger '87 alternator fits the old bracket. I think I'm going to rebuild a Q-Jet and put an open element air cleaner on it. We'll probably repaint it next year too.

looks good, now hook up the a/c and make it comfy. for june - september. i actually did this same swap about 12 years ago. tha car was an a/c car and i didn't want it. so i went to the junk yard, found a regal w/out a/c, the entire heater box assembly unbolted from the fire wall and bolted right in my car. it was a great swap and cleaned up under the hood.

Did the 350 drop right onto the frame pads or did you have to put new ones in? I was thinking about doing this conversion also.

The swap was very simple. I used the original frame pads in the car for the V6 and bolted on new V6 motor mounts. Everything lined up and bolted up very easily. The wiring harness off of the V6 even hooks right up with no problems. The only problem is that the passenger side valve cover is very close to the A/C box on the firewall so be careful sitting the motor in, the A/C box cracks pretty easy.

Can anyone post a few pictures of this up close?
I'd like to see what were talking about.
How about any AC delete 350's I'd REALLY like to see how that all turns out seeing as I have a complete non-a/c setup for my transplant.

    Thanks,
    Dan
