Well looks like primedia has the corner on the automotive magizines just like clear channel Radio. Well with like 5 different mopar mags you think they would have a musclecar mag. Oh Well there goes all my modeling referance material. Tim
Another alternative to Safeway's newstand . . . I, too, was disappointed when I heard Musclecar Review was gone. I was hoping to see another shoot-out between that Buick GSX and the 396 Nova (see picture below.) There is another magazine that has surfaced in the wake of things, called Muscle Car Motion. http://www.musclecarmotion.com/ I've already subscribed and received my first issue. It's a keeper! I also chose to join the AMCA http://www.musclecarnationals.com at the same time. They sent a cool sticker (static cling type) for my car. They also sent a nice-looking certificate of membership--it's nice enough to frame and hang by your diploma!
Successor to Muscle Car Review After Primedia canned Muscle Car Review, the magazine's editor, Tom Shaw, began work on a successor to it, called Muscle Car Power. The first issue should be out any day now, and work has begun on the second issue. It will be quarterly at first, then perhaps monthly somewhere down the road. Distribution is a bit limited starting out, so it might be a bit hard to find. I don't think the Website isn't up yet either. I'll post info around as I hear more.

Nah. Really more speculation than hard fact. Only reason I know planning has begun on the next issue is because I'm working on a few articles that'll hopefully be in that one. I'm just a lowly freelance writer, so I'm not really privvy to exact printing dates, subscription-fulfillment details, etc. Like I said, I'll try to post more info as I get it. tom Shaw We ran into Tom Shaw at the Year One Bristol Bash and he said that they were about 3 weeks away from mailing out the first issue. I think it is by subscription only right now. Paul Gawel
Cool! TWO new magazines about musclecars?!!! Right on! I'm gonna sign up for the Muscle Car Review ASAP. I hope I'm not stepping on anybody's toes here, but maybe it should be mentioned that the August/September issue of Muscle Car Motion has a 10-page feature (entirely in color!) of the 2002 Factory Stock Muscle Car event. There is also a featured Buick GSX on page 19, complete with a two-paged center fold shot of it-looks almost good enough to eat! There are some other neat stuff too, but I won't spoil the suprise for anybody interested in subscribing. It looks like the mailbox is going to get interesting again! :Brow:
