Looks like some of you folks are listing all the vehicles you currently own and then below that is a list of previously owned "Muscle Cars"? Do you list the ones that you wished you had kept?
I don't have any of my old vehicles listed, but wish I never sold my '69 Big Bad Blue (1 of 195 made), 390 4-speed AMX. :ball:
62 SD Catalina One of mine that I sold was a 62 SD Catalina, seems like it was one of 150 or some low number. Aluminum front end, bumpers, no radio, 4 speed, 8 lug wheels, 421 M/T crossram, etc. ... I had the SD Pontiac, and a 67 GTO (baby blue cream puff) and my current car a 70GS 455.The ex wife demanded that I sell one of them when I bought the Pontiac ($600.00). I sold the Buick... Years later I tracked the Buick down in Midland Texas, hitched a ride with a chick I new, went to Midland and drove the car back to Alabama.
Wish I had my original 72 GS that I bought new back then. But usual story--got married, sold car, had kids etc etc. Only mistakes I really made in cars was that my cousins were mopar fanatics and they offered me in the late 70's their cars for sale. I couldn't afford it back then but for $1800 I could have had a 70 Challenger T/A 340sixpak and if memory serves me right for around $1500 or 1600 a 70 Hemi Roadrunner. If I only knew then what I know now!!!
I know what you mean. I passed on a '70 Hemicuda for $3000 in '79 because I couldn't afford it. :af: :ball:
70 GS Stage 1, Burgundy Mist, White vynyl Top , And White Leather interior. It was a SCO car. 1 of ? with Leather bucket seats.
The Buick drives better! Had a bunch of em, the GS seems like it drives better than any Muscle car I ever had. When I was 16, our Body and Fender instructor at school brought in a 65 2+2 Catalina Ventura. He but a show quality Imron paint job on that jewel(421 4sd with console). It was Persimmon metalflafe with Silver below the molding. I paid $600.00 for that one also. If you cogged the gears fast enough it would stay sideways until right before you hit high gear. Seems like it took up both lanes... That was my favorite Pontiac to drive. SuperSleeper Crashed it running from the cops...
Wish I had kept my '68 Hurst Olds post coupe, and my plain jane '69 GTO, couldn't affort to fix the H/O was 19 at the time, same story with the GTO. Also couldn't afford to buy a '70 Saturn yellow GSX 4-speed car to $2000.00 when I had the chance in 1988, it to needed an engine rebuild. Harry
I have had many cars i regret selling, but i cant complain with the ones i have now! I wonder if any of us will be talking about this subject 30 years from now quoting..."I remember when i could have bought a 70 stage-1, 4-speed GSX for a measly $45k back in 2005!" :beer :beer :beer
I was a Corvette guy. Traded my 72 Sun Coupe in 75 for a 65 Stingray coupe. Wish I hadn't done that. Sold the Stingray a couplr years later for $3500. Wish I hadn't done that. Got a new 77Z28 4spd all optioned out (I ordered it) . Traded it for a 80Corvette. Wish I hadn't done that. Traded the 80 for cash, bought a 66 Corvette 327/350 4pd. Glad I did that. Traded that for a 71Corvette 454 LS5 4spd Convertible, wish I hadn't done that, it needed a lot of resto. Then bought the 66 back, a 95 ZR1, wish I hadn't done that either. Finally got out of Corvettes. Now into Buicks again. Sorry for the long sad story. In the mean time, had a couple Rivs as second cars. 66GS and 83.
"Wish I hadn't done that too" I had a Vette, 69 Roadster, I sold it $4000 I think, wish I hadn't done that, and bought a Porche 924 wish I hadn't done that, crashed the Porsche(big time), wish I hadn't done that too.
My Lost Muscle Bought a 1971 Mach 1, 429 Super Cobra Jet, Ram Air, 4 speed Drag Pak car in Feb 1975. Paid $2,900.00 Cdn. Sold it in June 1977 for $1,800.00 Cdn :ball: :ball: :ball: It was very early production, less than 400 built. I was the third owner. Really, really really, really, really, really regret selling it. uzzled: Bought a 1 owner 1970 Road Runner convert in June 1978 for $675.00 Cdn., one of 824 total. Mine had the basic 383 Commando engine, but with a 3 speed manual trans. Less than 20 built that way I'm told. Plum Crazy, white top, white buckets, console. Sharp car. Sold it two months later for $850.00 Cdn, figured I made out like a bandit. Riiiiiiiiiiight. :ball: :ball: :ball: Really, really, really, really regret selling that one too. Both cars still survive to this day, and I still have keys for each. :Brow: The Mach 1 resides in Kansas, same owner last 12 years, I've talked with him a couple of times. Am going to visit him one day. The Road Runner still belong to the same owner I sold it to in 1978. It is now a trailer poodle, show queen. He drives it once or twice a year. My brother knows him from a Mopar Club. Somewhere I've got pics from about 15 years ago from a World of Wheels show. Got out of muscle until this past winter. I'm not going for a hat trick so........ I WILL NEVER SELL MY 65 GS!
Let's see, my first car ever was a 1957 Chevy 2 door Bel Air hardtop. The car needed a frame badly, so I sold it 11 years ago. I wish I still had it now, seeing as how you can get a ready-to-roll chassis for them. When I was selling the '57 I had an opportunity to trade it for an original '69 RS/SS Camaro. Silly me, all I wanted was the cash. Who knew 11 years later that year and model Camaro would be so valuable? My second car, which got me into Buicks was a 1969 LeSabre 2 door, 400 Series trim. Best car I ever had. I only owned it for a year and a half, I thought I needed to sell it and buy a newer S-10 Cameo in 1990. The LeSabre is the one car I still see pictures of to this day, that turns my stomach that I still don't have it. Anyone but me have a car effect them like that? Let's see what else have I owned, 1972 Cutlass - this car was a polished turd. Luckily I sold it when I did, it was nothing but repairs here and there when I owned it. A month after I got rid of it the tranny went out. It's one of those cars you buy and end up putting more money than needed into it and selling it for half. You're just glad to be rid of it. Had a 1978 El Camino, nothing bad about that car at all. Kinda miss it too. My dad had a really nice 1972 Buick Skylark Convertible GS clone. That car was serious fun. That was one other Buick that I should of bought from him. I think that's basically all of them I've had. Not all muscle cars, but there were a few.
Lets see...this could be a long list... Cars I should have kept and what I bought them for 1970 GSX Stage 1 auto (white) 5200.... miss this one the most 1972 442 W-30 4 speed 2500 1969 Dodge Super Bee 383 4 speed 500.00 1971 GS Stage 1 Cortez gold, matching numbers 3000.00 1971 GS Stage 1 4 speed convertible 1 of 9 forget the original price in the paper. Maybe 4000.00(?) or best offer in 1985. Finally bought same car in 2003 and sold it. ou: 1973 GS Stage 1 4 speed 750.00 1973 GS 350 4 speed. Bought for all of 100.00 Cars I passed on but should have bought 1970 GSX Stage 1 Apollo white. I think it was a 4 speed. Steven Dove was selling this one in 1984 for 2500 or best offer. Still have the GSXtra with the ad. 1968 Hurst Olds 1500 (completely disassembled) 1969 Hurst Olds 2500 (needed a motor) 1970 GTX 440 4 speed 2500 or best offer Muscle cars were so cheap 20 years ago. I remember SS 396 Chevelles being a "dime a dozen" in 1984/1985 and selling for 1500-1800. I wish I had more money back then.
I want my 64 Skylark back. :ball: It originally had a 300 4v, ST 200, and I put a 455 and TH-400 in it. That was about the most fun car I have ever owned. I still think that selling it was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. :error:
missed em Had a chance to get a shelby cobra for 10k. Or how about a 64 ford thunderbolt for 4k. Was so stupid. Still am. Frank
72 stage1- sherwood green, white top and interior.this car was just loaded with options. it had everything but power door locks. paid 2,800 for it about 1977 and sold it in 83 for 3,500 to help with the down payment on the house.about 1985 i found a 69 impala SS, 427-4 speed car. bench seat, radio delet and disc brakes as the only option. lost my job and the car had to go in 87-88. sold it for 3,500 and made money. i'am sure we all were in the same boat at one time or another.
