Ken and Don are selling a few cars at Then and Now, one of those is a numbers matching 70 Stage 1 4 speed 'vert.

I had a feeling that might be the case since the ad states "Marietta, GA".

I wonder why the 70 and 72 have to be sold together? I see that yellow car has the X-braces that were being discussed the other day.

Looks like the convertible is paint code 10.

I hope the right person comes along to save the convertible.

I spoke to Mark and the convertible is a non-stage, non-numbers green/black car. They made a mistake in the listing and it should be corrected soon.

The one with the X stripes may be a factory 455 car as it has the 455 engine mounts

An "honest" mistake I'm sure, given how "honorable" he is. Caveat Emptor.

@ DBS. who is the “he” you are referring to above?

FYI- Mark had nothing to do with writing those craigslist ads. If you have a personal beef with the man I suggest you call him directly.

The convertible is a sitting on a small block frame with a small block steering shaft, there is a convertible frame beside it leaned on the wall however

Unless it's a car you really want for whatever particular reason, you're better off starting off with something more complete plus w/o some docs. or matching # eng. or trans (if auto), impossible to prove it's a Stage 1, but given the voluminous info in the ad, it leaves a lot to ones imagination. And yes, if I had to guess, any rare parts have been robbed, but call if you're interested.

Huh, I wonder if that frame is the one I had there that came up missing?

All of those cars require too much for my old body anymore..I don't even know if I would haul them out for scrap prices. All would kill my retirement money to be driveable.

It all the little dumb stuff that missing, but yes, most would be available or you may need a Skylark parts car - Definitely easier than the others you mentioned. There's at least some ultimate value if you can prove it's a Stage 1 car and seems like you know what you're getting into.

71/72 hard top non matching stage car is NOT the car to build, if your hoping to stay above water.

Given the option I'd rather build an NOM Stage 1 & $2500 isn't getting much to start with regardless. At least better chance of being less underwater than a 350 or std. 455 car.

Only if you’re fixing it to sell it.
I don’t wanna beat the cost versus value debate to death, again. Some of us just wanna buy an old car and fix it up ourselves.
It’s easy to advise somebody to start with the best, most rust free, complete car you can. I’ve seen it 1000 times on this board. For some of us, that’s just not in the budget.
