Ok, maybe this isn't the correct place put this thread, but what the hey. I didn't see a muffler section.
I have a pair of glasspacks on my Skylark and they sound pretty good. But, are there other streetable mufflers out there that would have better flow and better/louder sound? I've heard that Flowmaster Delta 30's are nice, but I don't want to buy them if they aren't any better than the glasspacks I already have.

Search the old posts under mufflers. We have discussed this many times. I think head to head the Walker dyno max flowed the best and were the quietest. Some brands members like were not in that test so we do not have their results head to head.

i just installed a set of dynomax super turbos (2.25") on my 72 gs 350 . sound is very nice . stay away from the flowmasters unless u love a lot of noise .

I've got Walker Super Turbo's on my GS455, they are very quiet at idle (probably as loud or just a touch louder than a new mustang GT) but really open up when you get on it. On the highway they are nice and mellow, easy to drive with. I have 2 chamber flowmasters on one of my GS350s, these make the car sound like a bat out of hell but are near impossible to drive with. Both cars have headers. The Flowmasters are loud all the time, whether your on the gas or not. They are very tough to drive on the highway with. I put a couple loud 6x9s in the rear package tray to give me a different tune to listen to, but the constant "base hit" of the exhaust makes the music hard to listen to too. I'd stick with the Walkers if you want something very driver friendly, if you want to turn heads and make everyone notice you and aren't worried about all the noise, flowmasters.

Well, I'm definitely looking for the loudest street-legal muffler I can find, so I guess Flowmaster is the way to go. Having headers on my car would probably make the car louder & sound better also.

If you are looking for loud, you can go with the walker ultra flow mufflers or even louder , the walker race bullets.
SOme of the cheaper glass packs, even though they are straight through do not flow well. Jim Burek

Would the walker race bullets be street legal?

Legal? It depends on your local noise ordinances, They are loud, but behind a 350, I'm sure they would be legal. Jim Burek

Thanks...I'll be on the lookout. What is the loudest Flowmaster muffler out there for street use? I hear the Super 40's are loud.

Flowmasters all the way!!! It is all opinions on here, and mine is "I love them". They will last longer than any other thing mentioned above too. Sounds like you want them loud, so go with the original 40's. If you change your mind and want a quieter, but authority filled sound, go with the Deltaflow 50's. The Deltas remove most of the rumble at cruising speed but still get attention.

    muffler ?

I just put on a set of flowmasters yesterday. I got them for free from my girlfriends brother in law. They are the 40 series two chamber. They are in a 67 buick GS340 that is now runnig a 300. The 300 is a stock 2 brl with the exception of the Poston headers. Unfortunaltly my old tailpipes were unuseable so for now i am running turn do right befor the axle(until i can finish the resto). It sounds amazing. For me though it is a little to loud but i think when i put on the tailpipes it will mellow it out. I agree with the previus post that flowmasters will out last anything. Thay are made with the heaviest gauge steel i have ever seen. I am sticking with flowmasters from know one I wish it was done last night though i had to fend off an obnoxious ricer with me jeep will my girl friend and i went for ice cream. I think the 300 sounds now he would not have even bothered.
    thanks Adam

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH Screw it! Run open headers, the cop's will never catch you while your driving a Buick!
Just Kidding. Even though I used to do that with my Regal, thought I was going to go deaf since I wasn't wearing the race helmet while on the street (thought the brain bucket would look funny to other drivers)

I just drove my buick with a recently dropped in 350 over to a freinds to get some exhaust welded. It is a stock motor but I only had the exhaust manifolds. It was defenitely causing alot of rice reving, because their cars were shaking as I pulled up. I know it doesn't have much power yet, but it sure felt great to have that rumble!!
