I am running the MSD 6AL with Mallory Comp 9000 dist now I want to hook up the MSD retard computer. When I hook the white wire from the MSD box to the yellow wire from the retard computer then run the green and violet to the dist from the computer (per the directions) I don't have fire. Also when I run the green and violet from the MSD box to the dist I have no fire, the only way it works is with the white wire, am I missing something ?? or is my computer junk ??:Do No:

    Todd,
I can't offer any specific advice, but I have found the MSD website to be very helpful. (www.msdignition.com) I just finished hooking up the high speed retard on my MSD Digital 6 ignition. It involved buying more from MSD. The way the Digital 6 works is the box has a pink wire, that when supplied with 12 volts will retard the spark to whatever you set the rotary dials on the box to (0-9.9* in .1* increments) To accomplish this I needed to buy an MSD 8950- RPM activated switch, an MSD 8670- 3000-5200 RPM module selector, and a common 12 volt relay. The RPM activated switch closes the relay to ground when the selected RPM is reached, directing 12 volts, via the relay, to the pink wire, and retarding the spark. I downloaded some wiring diagrams off the website, and this helped me immmensely. MSD has a tech line(915) 855-7123, you can try that, if the website doesn't help. I'm not sure how the retard computer works, but you may need additional parts to make it work. Hope that helps.
