Just bought this as a take out from my buddys pro stock car. Gonna wire it into the Skyhawk to get some data on what its doing and when. Its my understanding I can make changes to where the power comes in by pulling timing and ramping it back in to help with traction on the line. Has provisions for wheel and drive shaft speed and sensors.

Hoping to get enough info so that im not spitting in the wind making changes to the car and not knowing the correct results.

Many ppl run the dots with these. Becareful because in some classes the arc module ifvyou get it is considered illegal.......that is the active management of the controlling the rom and timing from a direct reading of the driveshaft sensor.

Here ppl have car say runs 9.90s, they might make a pass with say 12 degrees pulled out, maybe the throttle limited to 3/4 and short shift it, and leaving softly.......and run say 10.35.........now they have rpm and time window......they setup the module to run this line.......they put full timing andvthrottle and launch back and the grid will pull timing based on how your program is to clamp the pass down.

You can also program the timing to ramp on another program triggered by the release of your brake button to ramp timing from where ever you set it to start to take as long as you want to come back it........so you can hit the tire under full force.......then a few tenths later clamp it to whatever number you want 10,15 20.....and come back to full gradually base on your graph....or you can step it in, or you can give it all back at once........you can even pull timing above a certain rpm too.

They have lots of option and ability......you can even do individual cylinder timing if you want to go really crazy or run alot of spray

Its all a bit mind boggling to me. I'll use it to get some data and try to calm the launch down at first then maybe explore other options later.

There is all kinds of videos online on the basics

You will grafts thst look like this. I had 1 in my car but never could get it to actually work right.......I think because I was using the distributor pickup and the signal was fuzzy.......other traces I've seen are much cleaner than mine ever was....I have a crank trigger now and will try again. But I never could really get it to rpm right but smart enough to know you can't physically make an engine go from 1500 to over 4000 and back and forth thst many times in a second

The fuzzy line that sits at 3500 or 2500 was where I sat on the brake. The once trace I got that actually rpmed I had to really work and feature it up.......I put my 6520box back on and we had rpm like normal so I know if was getting false signals somehow

To get the drive shaft data you will need to run the ARC module.Which is traction controler. You do not have to use that feature but for drive shaft data it's worth the purchase.
I have used the arc module on bracket cars for et control

Becareful with the data cord at the box it's a micro USB and it will break very easily.

The car came with a crank trigger setup but not installed. Cory says it can be connected to the RPM port on the 7AL2 box.

Picked up a module on Ebay but need the part number for the drive shaft sensor.

Make sure your yoke has a spot for the pickup wheel, and you need to figure out how many pickup pulses per revolution you want to see.....the more pulses the more information and more accurate your information will be

Doing some research and I see a hall effect sensor with one magnet and a mount to hold it in place. nothing shows if the race pack sensor plugs into the 7761 ARC. Your saying the ring is a better option?

Great video. Easy to see how soon a 16x wheel picks up as compared to how far your shaft can spin b4 a pickup happens with a 4x

Racepak hall effects work fine.I have used the motion racepak and Davis sensors. They all work fine. The simple setup is the racepak sensor with a 8 magnet collar when using the arc.The high res stuff is needed on high hp radial tire stuff.A floppy tire is easier to catch when wheel speed gets out of hand
