    The mounting hole at the middle of the frame (I believe its #4 or #5) is rusted on one side. I purchased a large washer to weld in place (inside diameter matches the other holes 1-1/2"). My concern is the thickness of the washer, it is a good 1/8"-3/16" thick and will sit on top of the frame rail. Should I:
    a) Install it on top of the rail.
    b) cut the washer to fit within the hole (I would have to cut the top of the rail to make the hole large enough)
    c) get a thinner washer.
    d) weld the washer on top and grind the !@#$ out of it to reduce the thickness

    Thanks, in advance.

    I am curious to see what board members say. I have the same problems as well. I to was thinking of doing the same thing.

    I believe one yo or opg sells the right pieces to repair the frame.

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

    Just use a skip weld around the perimeter of the washer. The 1/8" thickness of the washer on top of the frame metal will not make a difference because the rubber isolators/mounts will sag/compress with age and tightening.

    George;

    Thanks for the reply. That's what I was hoping to do. I want to finish that before I send the frame to be powder coated. I should be able to start re-assembling in a couple of weeks.
