Motor Oil?

    For the record....
    My machine shop recommends:
    ValvolineĀ® Specialty Racing Oil ("Not Street Legal")
    http://www.valvoline.com/products/consumer-products/motor-oil/racing-motor-oil/9
    That, and Lucas oil stabilizer.

    They take engines apart etc., so I figure they would know better than me.
    For daily drivers in the winter, that seems like a "thick" combination, so I use
    the Rotella T synthetic.

    I would use 1 bottle of ZDDPlus regardless of what oil you chose to use. Use the thinnest oil that gives you satisfactory oil pressure at the maximum RPM you turn the engine to. For a SBB, that is 10 psi/1000 RPM. If you shift at 5000 RPM, you want to see at least 50 psi with the oil hot.
