Hi, wanted to put a 350 or a 383 stroker motor in my 67' skylark that has currently has a 340ci in it. Does the standard GM 350ci. motor mounts hook right up on my car? Or does it need some modification? Is there a specific brand of motor mounts that are better than the rest?
    Thanks,
    Ryan.

IIRC. A Buick 350 uses the same mounts as your 340.

    engine mounts...

Thanks, how about if I put a chevy engine (350ci.) and chevy tranny? Would the motor mounts be the same also? I wanted an all chevy drivetrain.
    Thanks,
    Ryan.

    daward Measure twice, cut once.

Before anyone rips your head off for putting a Chevy motor (or anything else for that matter) into your Buick...

I committed the sacrilidge back in July '02, its a very simple changeover and I found that parts are much easier to get--AND CHEAPER! I ended up snapping the crank in May and have been recovering ever since.

The mounts will NOT hold the same from the Buick to Chevy. To do a Small Block Chevy swap...

You need a pair of small block chevy perch mounts from a chevelle of the same/similar year.
You will also need to re-route the hard fuel line from the driver's side to the passenger side...unless you are going with a Fuel Injection set up, in which case it shouldn't matter all that much.
And finally you will need to cut/lengthen the positive feed to the ignition, depending on how you set it up.
If you want to keep your current BOP transmission, you can pick up an adapter plate from Jegs or Summit.

It took me about a full day to do it once I had all the parts in order. A stroker would be a fun project... I'd like to get around to building one sooner or later.

    Good Luck!
