Anyone here using the moroso trick front springs? im interested in using them but wowuld like to know whats entailed first. will i have to put them in and take them out several times to cut them or is there a spring that provides the correct ride height out of the box?

    Thanks,

I have them in my 70'. I used the ones for the BB Chevelle (front end weight of 1750-1810) Jegs P/N 710-47200. No cutting.

I don't know what to tell you about the SB springs. I weighed the front of my car and the closest were the BB ones. The front tires are M/T Sportsman 26 x 7.5 x 15"

    Here is a pic.

    Shawn,

I use the same springs as Rob. Uncut. They did settle about an inch the first year. Becareful on the install, they're alittle tricker than a stock spring due to the hieght.

    Shawn,

I can 60' at 1.50, but I never do. I like to keep it around 1.56. For next year I shooting for 1.59-1.60. You have to remember that my thing is bracket racing and I look at things alittle differently. If I put a 4.10 gear in my car and added about 300 rpm to my converter, then set the tune-up on kill, I would 60' around 1.43. I would think with what your doing, mid to high 1.30's are possible with everything right. The GSE/GSM guys are down there, but there stuff is really refined.

Well as you theres nothing refined about me so id be happy with lo 1.5s, hi 1.40's, Jim said he did 1.40 his car with the same suspension set up. where can i weigh my car? shall i get the tarffic units portable scales? LOL
Motor is goin together next week soon as i get my heads from
John Zerucha we're gonna dyno it WOOHOOOO.

    Shawn,
If you have a local landfill near you, they usually have scales to weigh trucks going in and out.

I am using Competition Engineering shocks front and rear.
I also use a anti-roll bar similar to the Dick Miller setup.

I also use the sbc on my 69 streetcar I even cut them a half of a coil.when I switched from the bbc springs the car acted totally different on the track 60 ft dropped from 1.50 to a best of 1.39 and consistent 1.40 with 3.73 gears.yhe car now has a wicked stance but it is a little floppy on the corners for street driving. :3gears:

    front springs

    HI Shawn!
    Where in Cleveland?
I am parting out the Regal~ Moroso trick fronts ( and rears ) for small chevy.
    $50 for shocks and springs.
About fifty passes on them. Best 60' was a 1.42 on drag radials. Also have the comp engineering 3way adjustable shocks front&rear.
As mentioned, they settled a little but sit nice now.

This weekend out... buddy's getting married next weekend and the "guys" party is this weekend, starts saturday at breakfast. Should be 'interesting'
I have a break from work coming up and will finally concentrate on taking the car apart and get the wife off my back about the 9 cars that have collected here.
And yes $50 takes all. Not a bad deal, the shocks were $80 a pair and the spring were $100.
